Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started & Accounts
Do I need a membership to play at the Reno Tennis Center?
No. Everyone is welcome. You can drop in and pay the guest court fee, or you can become a member for additional benefits such as priority booking and discounts. Learn more on our Memberships & Benefits page.
How do I create a free guest account?
Create your free guest membership through CourtReserve so you can reserve courts, register for classes and manage your schedule online. Visit our Join Now page to get started.
How far in advance can I reserve a court?
Court reservations must be made through a CourtReserve account.
Guest Members can book courts online in advance once their free CourtReserve account is created.
If you do not have a CourtReserve account, the front desk can assist you with a same-day reservation in person, based on court availability at the time of your arrival.
Advance reservations are not available without a CourtReserve account.
Booking windows and availability may vary by season and program.
Court Reservations & Cancellations
What is the court reservation cancellation policy?
Private court rentals must be canceled at least 1 hour in advance to avoid being charged the full session fee. Other events such as leagues, tournaments, round robins, clinics and lessons follow event-specific cancellation policies listed at the time of registration.
What if I’m a no-show?
No-shows are generally treated as late cancellations and may result in the full fee being charged. Please cancel through CourtReserve or call the front desk as soon as you know you can’t make it so we can open courts for others.
How long can I reserve a court for?
Courts are reserved in 30-minute increments. Singles reservations are typically up to 1 hour consecutively, doubles up to 2 hours, and group reservations up to 3 hours when available. If no one is waiting and no reservation follows your time, you may often continue to play as courtesy allows.
Programs, Lessons & Registration
How do I register for lessons, classes or leagues?
All registrations for tennis and pickleball lessons, classes, camps and leagues are managed through CourtReserve. Once you have your free guest membership, you can log in to view the schedule and sign up for programs that fit your level and goals.
Do you offer programs for both tennis and pickleball?
Yes. We offer adult and junior programs in both tennis and pickleball, including group classes, private lessons, camps, and leagues. Visit our Adult Tennis, Junior Tennis, Adult Pickleball and Junior Pickleball pages for details.
What should I bring to my first lesson or class?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and court shoes, bring water, and if you have one, your own racquet or paddle. If you’re just getting started, we can often provide a loaner racquet or paddle, ask the coach or front desk in advance.
Payments & Weather
How do I pay for courts and programs?
Most payments are processed through your CourtReserve account using the payment method on file, or at the front desk for drop-in guests. For full details, please review our Payment Policies.
What happens if there is bad weather?
Safety comes first. In the event of rain, lightning or unsafe conditions, courts and programs may be delayed, moved or canceled. We do our best to notify registered players via CourtReserve and/or email. If you’re unsure whether your session is running, please call the front desk.
